Known best for her small screen portrayal of Lani McKenzie on the hit television series Baywatch, Carmen Electra has used her physical attributes to make a name for herself within the entertainment world. Born to Patricia and Harry Patrick in suburban Ohio on 20th of April in 1972, Tara Leigh Patrick would, for marketing purposes it seems, change her name to Carmen Electra in 1991. Her new name seemed more fitting for Prince's Paisley Park record label, which Carmen Electra earned a deal with that same year. Though her singing career was almost as brief as her personal relationship with Prince, she, however, maintained a business relationship with him even after disappointing sales of her debut album titled "Carmen Electra." Performing as a dancer at Prince's L.A. club Glam Slam, and serving as an opening act during Princes "Diamonds and Pearls" tour kept her visible within the entertainment world. This later on created opportunities to appear in several television commercials and in 1995 a nude pictorial in the May issue of Playboy.

Carmen Electra's wildly popular 1995 photo spread in Playboy earned her many adoring fans. In fact, her exposure in Playboy led to Carmen taking over hosting duties on the MTV dating game "Singled Out" from Jenny McCarthy in 1996. Carmen Electra's next break came in 1997 with the aforementioned role of Lani McKenzie in the television show Baywatch. Carmen Electra's "talent" was recognized and she was eventually chosen from the hundreds who auditioned. The syndicated television series baywatch served as a launching point for many actresses such as Pamela Anderson, Nicole Eggert, Yasmine Bleeth, and several others. Each saw boosts in their careers as a result of becoming a Baywatch cast member. It was season eight of Baywatch when Carmen Electra joined the cast and saw a similar boost in her career. Arguably, this period represented the high point of Carmen Electra's career.

Due to the popularity of Carmen Electra's initial Playboy spread, she was featured in a second nude pictorial for Playboy in June of 1997. Carmen would go on to appear on the cover of Playboy two additional times. She was the cover girl on the December 2000 issue, and was also on the cover of the April 2003 issue as a guest celebrity photographer.

Carmen Electra began her big screen acting career in 1997 by appearing in the movie "Good Burger," which was based on a popular television series on Nickelodeon. Her movie credits also include the 1999 film entitled "The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Humans, the popular spoof movie "Scary Movie" in 2000, Starsky and Hutch in 2004, Scary Movie 4 (2006), Date Movie (2006), National Lampoon's Pledge This! (2006) ,and Epic Movie (2007)"
