Paris Hilton Biography
Paris Hilton Pictures (Updated: October 4, 2009)
Due to her outrageous antics and partygoing, Paris Hilton has become a permanent
fixture in most tabloid publications. She has managed to transform her tabloid notoriety
into millions of dollars.
Paris Hilton's drive to earn money on her own -- no matter what her true motivation may be --
is one of her few redeeming qualities. Paris, unlike some others born into wealthy families,
seems dissatisfied to merely live off of her family's substantial fortune. Paris' great-grandfather
Conrad Hilton built the Hilton empire worth an estimated $300 million, to which she is
heir apparent.
Revenue generating endeavors for Ms. Hilton
include modeling, nightclub management, co-author, also television and movie roles. Paris Hilton
has received small parts in movies such as the 2001 film Zoolander, Wonderland released in 2003, The Cat in the Hat in 2003 and more substantial roles in films like the House of Wax in 2005, and the DVD release "Bottoms Up" in 2006.
She has also made guest appearances on TV shows such as "George Lopez" and "The O.C." in 2002 and 2003, respectively.
Paris' involvement in the 2003 Fox reality television show "The Simple Life," co-starring Nicole Richie, succeeded in
making Paris Hilton a household name.
Paris Hilton's career has had its share of controversy. In 2003 an explicit video featuring
Paris and Rick Solomon was released on the internet. Whether or not this video was a well crafted
publicity stunt is hard to determine. It is clear, however, that this video, through mainstream media coverage,
succeeded in thrusting Paris Hilton into the publics consciousness.
In January 2007 Paris was placed on probation for 36 months after pleading no contest to a reckless
driving charge involving alcohol.
In February of that same year, Paris faced 45 days in jail for driving with a suspended license after she was stopped for
speeding down Sunset Boulevard with no headlights on, which was a violation of her probation.
Ultimately, Hilton only served three days of her 23 day sentence, which was reduced from the original 45 days. The L.A. Sheriff's Department sited a medical condition as an explanation for why she was released early, but did not elaborate. Paris was placed under house and would serve her original 45 day sentence there in the comfort of her own home.
In October of 2004 and again in January of 2007, video evidence was released showing
Paris Hilton using Anti-Semitic, racist, or homophobic language. Though most of the mainstream
media avoided this story, Paris was still urged by several groups to explain her comments. Further
complicating things for Ms. Hilton were comments made by former friend Brandon Davis. In
America's National Enquirer magazine the following quotes were attributed to Brandon Davis,
"She is a racist!.....She puts down Jews and other minorities, too. And I'm Jewish. I found it depressing.
I finally had enough of her attitude six months ago, and I finished with her.
I don't want anything to do with her. I don't need anything from her. She is no longer my friend.
She's just not a nice person."
