For the 17th season of survivor the exotic location of Gabon was chosen for 18 contestants to vie in competition for 1 million dollars. This republic in west Africa so far this season has proven to be too much of a challenge for several of the cast members. As is typically the case, the cast of Survivor Gabon was carefully selected. The casting director(s) of Survivor have assembling a volatile mix of personality types almost down to a science. Survivor Gabon, of course, is no exception.

Among the Survivor Gabon cast is Jessica "Sugar" Kiper. When not competing for 1 million dollars on Survivor, Jessica is known as "Sugar" at the 1950's diner she works at in New York City (Update: No longer works at diner). But Sugar's other occupation of pin-up model no doubt helped the casting director(s) of Survivor Gabon make their final decision to add her to the cast. As one of the more popular competitors in this season of Survivor, Jessica already has a large on-line following.

Her growing popularity can only be partially attributed to her pin-up girl good looks. Sugar has proven herself to be more than a match for some of the toughest competitors this season. Her resourcefulness and strong will made it possible for her to reach the final three (unfortunately, she lost to Bob Crowley). With the recent death of her father, Jessica has been, not surprisingly, very emotional at times during the game. That, however, did not prevent her from puting herself in the enviable position of having a 1 out of 3 chance of winning the grand prize of 1 million dollars.

Sugar's upbeat personality and positivity made it easy for her to forge alliances outside of her original tribe. Those attributes coupled with Sugar's fellow Survivor contestants unfortunate tendency to underestimate her almost proved to be a winning combination.
